DMH IS NOT BEING HONEST WITH THE MISSOURI DEAF COMMUNITY!

DMH IS NOT BEING HONEST WITH THE MISSOURI DEAF COMMUNITY!

(Department of Mental Health)

It is like S.O.S.D.D. with DMH as we approach in the new year! (Same old shit different day).

DMH will continue to lie to us and still play the shell game!

No matter how many surveys and how much more baloney they will serve us!

It is merely an excuse to burn more trees and this is NOT green!

Yes, Ella is right about hundreds of deaf being underrepresented.

That is true about how DMH screwed two professionals who have shown their true integrity and professionalism in providing deaf mental health services.

It is those people at DMH who are not being honest. The new staff ( an interpreter???) is not qualified at all to handle the issues we are dealing with. This is like a sucker shoved in our mouths.

Those abusers of our programs need to go. The new governor should consider giving them the pink slips as they have been wasting our tax dollars!!!!!!! Millions and millions of dollars have been detoured to their whims and pleasures. Perhaps this posting should go to the Governor's desk. Let Jay Nixon read and get all the information up front.

I will not forget one administrator from DMH at our Deaf Empowerment Meeting on October 12, 2008 and I have observed his body language when he tried to answer our questions . He was obviously telling lies through his teeth.

I have seen some recent announcements where we are going around the block again and again.

What will we gain from that? probably more bullshit!!!!

Enough is enough!

Being sarcastic and tired of DMH, we are celebrating 30 years of audism and oppression!

I remember just like yesterday when we had a meeting during Spring 1979 to implement the support system to provide mental health services for the deaf community.

Now after thirty years of hundreds and hundreds of meetings, pages and pages of surveys, reports, researches and patience, we are still without proper mental health services for the deaf.

Why don't we change the course of action and initiate the lawsuit against Missouri Department of Mental Health?

Our suggestion to have some budget revisions to hire 4 deaf professionals have fallen on deaf ears! (pardon the pun!) They have used up as much as $539,000.00 to hire interpreters that were not on the par with the real needs of the deaf community. This is a clear violation of Americans with Disabilities Act and Missouri Human Rights. This is also a violation of trust and civil rights.

IT IS TIME TO SUE THE PEOPLE RUNNING DMH!

The time is now to write a letter to inform them of our intent to sue them.

What are you waiting for?

Sincerely,

Paul Kiel
